Parody Sites Sue Kamala Harris for “Failure to Provide Gaffe Content,” Citing Basement Hiding Tactic

In an unprecedented move, leading parody websites such as Newzy and The Babylon Bee have joined forces to file a lawsuit against Kamala Harris for what they describe as “dereliction of gaffe duty.” Their claim? By hiding in a basement and refusing to do interviews, Harris has deprived satire writers of the goldmine of gaffes they desperately need to fuel their content.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of what many in the parody world are calling a “drought” in public missteps from the Vice President, leaving comedy writers scrambling for fresh material.

“We Need New Gaffes!”: A Comedic Crisis

“She’s starved us of content,” lamented fictitious Newzy staff writer Chip Chortle, as he reviewed yet another “best-of” reel of Kamala talking about Venn diagrams. “There’s only so many times we can go back to the old favorites: Venn diagrams and her cackling. We need fresh, fall-on-her-face moments to really make an impact here. It’s like trying to squeeze water from a stone at this point.”

The Babylon Bee’s Ike Smirk echoed similar frustrations, saying, “We’ve been relying on Venn diagrams and word salads for way too long. We need her to get out there and trip over a few more verbal banana peels. You can only get so much traction out of ‘cats and dogs for dinner.’ We really need Kamala to ruin her campaign, and she needs to do it quickly!”

“Cats and Dogs for Dinner Can Only Go So Far”

Smirk also pointed out that Harris’s decision to lay low and stay hidden has forced satire sites into a corner, recycling old content. “Yeah, sure, we made some solid jokes out of that ‘cats and dogs’ comment,” he said, “but there’s only so much you can do with that. We need her to commit some fresh, truly baffling public blunders. We’re not asking for much—a word salad or maybe a bizarre anecdote about staplers. Anything will do at this point.”

Kamala’s Self-Imposed “Gaffe Drought”

The crux of the lawsuit centers around Harris’s recent campaign strategy, which seems to be centered on not making headlines. Since Joe Biden dropped out of the race, the Vice President has kept a low profile, avoiding high-stakes interviews and public appearances. Parody writers believe this is a calculated move to deprive them of material.

“This is a crisis,” said Chortle, “Kamala was once the queen of cringe-worthy interviews, but now? Nothing. I mean, we were practically drooling over the thought of her doing another sit-down with a reporter. What do we get instead? Silence. Just when we thought we’d hit the jackpot with her running for president, she hides!”

The parody sites are asking for damages in the form of “three highly publicized interviews per month” and “at least one unscripted rally,” which they believe will offer the juicy gaffes necessary to fuel their content for the remainder of the election cycle.

“The People Deserve to Laugh!”

A joint statement from the parody websites claims that Harris is violating their right to satire, depriving the public of essential comedic moments. “This is not just about us,” the statement read. “This is about the people. The American public deserves to laugh at the absurdities of their leaders
