Democrats Clarify They Don’t Hate Kids with Cancer, Only Kids with Cancer Who Support Trump

In a stunning display of selective compassion, Democrats at the State of the Union address made it abundantly clear that their disdain has a very specific target: kids with cancer who dare to applaud Donald Trump. When 13-year-old brain cancer survivor DJ Daniels was honored by the former president with an honorary Secret Service badge, the right side of the aisle erupted in a standing ovation. Meanwhile, the left side sat stone-faced, arms crossed, looking like they’d just been told their kale smoothies were swapped for McDonald’s milkshakes. Apparently, the party of “empathy” draws the line at sick kids who don’t toe the progressive line—DJ’s crime? Being grateful to the Orange Man himself.

Party leaders were quick to clarify their icy response. “Look, we love kids with cancer—big fans, huge supporters,” said a visibly flustered Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, adjusting her designer glasses. “But when they start clapping for Trump, it’s like, come on, pick a side, little buddy. We can’t be expected to cheer for a kid who’s basically a MAGA sleeper agent in a hospital gown.” Sources say Democrats were prepared to stand and clap—until they saw DJ’s tiny fist bump to Trump, at which point they collectively decided that brain cancer was no excuse for bad politics. It’s a bold new frontier in compassion: love the afflicted, but only if they hate who we hate.

Conservatives, naturally, see this as yet another mask-off moment for the left. “This is what we’ve been saying all along,” bellowed Sen. Ted Cruz, stroking his beard with the gravitas of a man who’s never lost a staring contest. “Democrats don’t care about people—they care about power. A brave kid beats cancer and gets a nod from Trump, and suddenly he’s persona non grata? That’s cold, even for them.” Meanwhile, Trump took to Truth Social, posting, “Little DJ, GREAT kid, tough as nails, Dems wouldn’t clap because they’re LOSERS—sad!” As the nation debates whether a 13-year-old cancer survivor deserves bipartisan applause, one thing’s clear: in Washington, even a kid’s heroism takes a backseat to partisan score-settling.
