Confused Sheriff Rounds Up All Drag Queens in Town After Gavin Newsom ‘Deep Fake’ Law Passed

Sheriff Homer Gomez of Butternut, California, came under fire today after arresting every drag queen in town. Gomez pointed to Gavin Newsom’s new ‘deep fake’ law. “If these men parading around like they’re women isn’t one of these deep fakes, then I don’t know what is,” said Gomez. “They’re clearly faking being women, and now there’s a law that makes this sort of thing illegal. I’m just following the governor’s orders,” Gomez continued.

The drag community was outraged by the arrests. “Honey, I’m as real as it gets,” said drag performer Salacious D. “I think our sheriff may need to take a closer look at this so-called deep fake law thing.”

Sheriff Gomez was undeterred. “Hey, I’m just getting started,” stated Gomez. “Boys playing girls sports? Deep fake. Pushup bras? Deep fake. Polticians speaking with a different accent at every political event? Deep fake. The possible violations are endless.”

When asked to comment on the situation, Governor Newsom just shook his head and sighed. “This new law was meant to stop Donald Trump from winning the election with the added benefit of putting Elon Musk in jail,” Newsom said. “I thought that was pretty obvious, but apparently not.”
